Oh man. I LOVE these...I feel my heart rushing, my skin tingling, the plunging fresh feeling of water all around, laughing, gasping, coming up for air...wow wow. somehow these summer times are deep inside me. they are warmth in my soul on days that are not summer quite yet....
and I am open to Life that is..this: jumping in deep, running off mountains into the great wild blue of God's fullness. yes. you are with me jumping off too, oh yes. we might grab hands in the air, or not depending on the wildness of our jump, but we are in this free falling into the "deep blue sky laden with heavenfruit". ahh yes... it is a bit heart-racing to fly into the air but there is Love to catch and hold and carry us.
walt whitman, speaking his joyful spirit, his 'yawp' to use his words to his soul living so full like that.
i love the line: "Then we burst forth--we float"...mmm yes.
| Darest Thou Now, O Soul by: Walt Whitman |
Darest thou now, O Soul, Walk out with me toward the Unknown Region, Where neither ground is for the feet, nor any path to follow? No map, there, nor guide, Nor voice sounding, nor touch of human hand, Nor face with blooming flesh, nor lips, nor eyes, are in that land. Till, when the ties loosen, All but the ties eternal, Time and Space, Nor darkness, gravitation, sense, nor any bounds, bound us. Then we burst forth--we float, In Time and Space, O Soul--prepared for them; Equal, equipt at last--(O joy! O fruit of all!) them to fulfil, O Soul. |
